PBA Champion - Talk 'n Text Tropang Texters

   The Talk 'N Text Tropang Texters is a professional basketball team in Philippine Basketball Association.
The team was first owned by Pepsi Philippines of Luis Francisco R. Lorenzo and was granted an expansion franchise prior to the 1990 PBA season. The Pepsi Bottlers also used the names 7-Up Bottlers and Pepsi Mega Hotshots in their campaigns, netting no championships.
   In 1996, telecommunications company Pilipino Telephone Corporation bought the franchise and has since owned the team. After the franchise was bought, it was then renamed to the Mobiline Cellulars and later the Mobiline Phone Pals which won the special 1998 PBA Centennial Cup. After Piltel became an MVNO in April 2000, the team was again renamed in 2001, this time as the Talk 'N Text Phone Pals, after a prepaid cellular phone service. They have since won two titles and remains as one of the league's powerhouses. In 2008, the team changed their moniker from Phone Pals to Talk 'N Text Tropang Texters, and in the process winning the team's second championship via the 2008-09 PBA Philippine Cup.

   MANILA, Philippines – Philippine Cup champion Talk ‘N Text handily beat Air21, 118-104, Wednesday night to complete a sweep of their best-of-five semifinal series and clinch the first Finals slot in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Araneta Coliseum.
   TNT import Paul Harris again led the attack with 28 points and nine rebounds while veteran point guard Jimmy Alapag poured in 27 points as the Tropang Texters broke free in the third quarter en route to their 10th Finals appearance and second straight after winning the previous all-Filipino conference.
   Former Most Valuable Player (MVP) Kelly Williams was also big for the Texters, unloading a double-double performance of 12 points and 11 boards as the Manny V. Pangilinan-owned franchise closed out the series in Game 3 to move closer to a third PBA title and first in an import-laden tournament.
   TNT will face in a best-of-seven Finals series the victor in the other semis pairing pitting Ginebra and Smart-Gilas Pilipinas.
   The Texters used a 7-0 attack to break a 44-all deadlock in the second period, before a mighty 17-5 blast put them at a shouting distance, 68-49 in the third.
   The lead ballooned to 26 points, 84-58, on two free throws by back-up guard Larry Fonacier, who came off the bench to contribute 19 points highlighted by a 4-of-5 shooting from the three-point arc early in the final frame.
   Air21 managed to chop the lead down to 13 points on several occasions but Alapag was always there to douse the Express’ rally, unloading 14 points in the fourth including key free throws and booming threes in the final stretch.
   Despite the sweep, TNT coach Chot Reyes said the series wasn’t actually an easy one.
“We have an expression on our team, ‘don’t exhale’,” said Reyes, who barrowed the same philosophy of Miami Heat Fil-Am coach Erik Spoelstra. “Playing a team like Air21, we took a big deep breath, don’t exhale, just keep pushing.”
   “We can’t let our guard down against a team like this. This is also our preparation (for the Finals) whether that’s Ginebra or Smart-Gilas Pilipinas. We can take a breath a little bit, take a rest and recover, then get strong and be ready to whoever we play,” Reyes said of the win, their 11th straight.
   The Kings lead the national team, 2-0, in their five-game series. Game 3 was being played at presstime. If Ginebra wins, it will advance to the finals and Game 1 of the Finals is set Sunday in the same venue.
Reyes is on his 12th championship stint and is eyeing his seventh PBA title. Reyes is tied at fifth with Tommy Manotoc, for the most number of titles won although he is already the first and so far only coach to win two championships with three different teams (Purefoods and Coca-Cola).

Sleep over here sa haws sang cuzins ko....after a long time, subong lang naliwat....way back in my high school days and early college, we often times had weekend sleepover at the house of my older cuzins ....but right now, they're already in the US...so i'm the older one left...hahaha!...but still enjoying the company of my younger cuzins....miss those days,,,ghost hunting at 12 midnight, star watching, mga istorya nga labay2,,but time flies so fast...we are getting older,,,those are experiences worth to be treasure....I miss my cuzins in States...

Holy Week - April 17 - 23, 2011

     Holy Week is a significant religious festival in the Philippines. In this predominantly Roman Catholic country, Holy Week is known as both Semana Santa (the Spanish translation of the religious festival itself) or Mahal na Araw. There are many superstitions abound regarding Holy Week, such as that wounds inflicted or received on Good Friday take long to heal and that amulets acquired on the said day are especially powerful.
     Beginning Holy Wednesday, businesses in the Philippines either shut down operations until Black Saturday or have later opening and earlier closing times, while mostly local television or radio stations suspend programming or continue broadcasting with more solemn or religious content. An example is the airing of the Seven Last Words on Good Friday live from churches on various local channels and films about the life and death of Jesus. During the Easter Triduum, usually a public holiday, some television stations even interrupt broadcast altogether until Black Saturday in observance of this solemn occasion. In the Ilocos region, a common practice is the singing of a wailing song called the Leccio. It is done as a reflection of mourning the death of Christ. Many towns in Philippines usually have religious processions during Holy Week where traditions are part of the processions.

My Song of the day : April 13, 2011 (Bad Romance - Lady Gaga)

      I went to the birthday celebration of our Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Ronald Raymund L. Sebastian. Each unit presented intermission numbers. From the Arevalo unit, the Handumanan Chorale sung, "To all the girls I loved before" and " My Way"; the RRLS-ICT Academy had the saxophone rendition of "Right Here Waiting"; the Training Center danced to the beat of "Waka Waka", the Foundation rendered a song of Chris Brown, "With you" and from our unit, the Molo unit, the Kinaadman Chorale gave a twist on the song of Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance", and "the Prayer."
     And among these songs, I chose Lady Gaga's Bad Romance as my song of the day. Because the Kinaadman Chorale sung it uniquely, a combination of ballad and acoustic. I love listening to it, even though they are singing this song oftentimes during school activities.

Event for Next Week - Manggahan Festival of the Province of Guimaras

     The Manggahan Festival of Guimaras is an identity festival commemorating the anniversary of the province as being an independent province. It depicts the cultural heritage of the province and also to emphasize the promotion of Guimaras as the "Mango Country of Western Visayas". It is a week long celebration that showcases the products of the province, its cuisine and services. 

    The Manggahan Festival brings out the creativity of the people of Guimaras. Aside from their mangoes that they consider as the best tasting in the world, which they showcase during the festivities, there were also hand made and indigenous products that fill the exhibit area in the plaza. 

     The Manggahan Festival will run from April 10-17, 2011.

About my Song

   I like this song because I once knew how it feels to be nothing.  All you gotta do is pray to God and he will make everything alright. Sometimes I know it is rough out there, and there are people that are unhappy with their selves and will try to pull you down as well. But I won't let any person bring me down, or hurt me. Everyone out there in the world has their problems that they can't deal with. But all I want for everyone is to keep their faith in their hearts and ask God for help. I know sometimes when you ask God for help or pray to God; sometimes it doesn’t come on time. That’s why I believe everything has its own purpose and time. Everyone has a good future ahead. Everyone is pretty in their own ways, no matter what anyone says about you, have faith in yourselves and don't give up.
